Carpentry Supervisor

Reports to: Director of Facilities and Director of Field Operations

 

Purpose: The primary roles of the Carpentry Supervisor include the supervision of employees' time,work ethic, efficiency and productivity within the Carpentry department as well as maintaining and regulating any and all carpentry needs for all site locations within the Rowan Salisbury School System. This includes the construction, repair, restoration and installation of structural woodwork and related materials.

 

Qualifications:

Valid NC Driver's license High School Diploma

5+ years' experience in carpentry with 1+ years in a supervisory capacity preferred

Strong management, leadership, communication and interpersonalskills Excellent problem-solving skills

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

Directs and supervise carpentry staff and theirduties/activities daily Complete all carpentry employee evaluations and TAGS change forms

Ensure all duties and responsibilities and work tickers are met when understaffed or employees absent Schedules, assigns and plans the work of carpentry personnel

Coordinate and communicate with other departments and site locations when necessary and as the need arises Monitor the acquisition and use of materials used in the carpentry department

Oversee and participate in repairs and improvements to facilities as needed

Ability to liaison any scheduling between outside vendors and school site locations contributing to any carpentry work to be performed

Maintain paperwork as necessary for the operations of the carpentry department. (timesheets, TAGS change forms, evaluations, purchase orders, receipts, P-Card information)

Trains or advises new employees within carpentry craft of new work methods or procedures, changes in safety regulations, work policies, code enforcements and thelike

24/7 on call to oversee any issues that may arise while "out of office"
