Exceptional Children District Parent Liasion

Term of Employment: 12 months

Compensation: $40,000-$55,000

 

 

Reports to: Executive Director of Exceptional Children

 

Purpose: This position is critical to facilitate and maintain effective communication between parents and the Exceptional Children Department. The purpose of this position is to provide excellent and effective customer service to families of students with disabilities in order for them to have access to necessary information.

 

Qualifications

Minimum

· 5 years of experience related to public schools

· Direct experience with students with disabilities

· 3 years of experience collaborating with a variety of stakeholders

 

Preferred

· Direct experience with Individualized Education Programs

· Experience working with parents of students with disabilities

 

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

· Serves as the point of contact for parent questions to the district

· Supports the communication to parents

· Assists with Parent Stakeholder Team and Parent Support Positions

· Serves as the Liaison to community agencies

· Coordinates parent trainings, district parent events and communications to parents

· Assist the Executive Director of Exceptional Children in data analysis regarding the needs of parents

· Collaborates with the Director of School Relations

· Collaborates with other school and district staff to support students with disabilities and their families

· Completes all duties assigned by the Executive Director of Exceptional Children
