Purpose: To supplement reading and/or math instruction to academically at-risk students in grades K-5 Qualifications: Ability to relate to children with special needs; ability to provide instructional activities in collaboration with teacher/MTSS Coach Some college training preferable. Minimum education requirements are: • 48 semester hours which include core courses with an overall 2.5 or higher GPA from an accredited institution; OR • Associate Degree or higher with an overall 2.5 or higher GPA from an accredited institution; OR • WorkKeys testing in Math - (min score 4); Reading - (min score 4); and Writing - (min score 3). Key Duties and Responsibilities: • Provide supplemental instruction to academically at-risk students in grades K-5 to provide reinforcement of reading and/or math skills. • Collaborate with classroom teacher/MTSS Coach to prepare lessons, materials, and activities that supplements classroom reading and/or math instruction for academically at-risk students. • Adhere to the federal guidelines regarding non-instructional assignments/duties. • Attend MTSS/Grade Level staff meetings and professional development as needed.
